Voicemail Summary

Voicemail Summary generates a short, one-sentence summary of each voicemail and shows it alongside the recording and transcript on the call log — who called, why, and any callback number or requested action. It’s the first live Traise Intelligence feature and is included on every plan.

From Admin → Traise Intelligence, switch Voicemail Summary on and accept the disclaimer (see the overview for what the disclaimer covers and the PII option).

  • The first time you enable it, Traise sets up the underlying transcription service for your account — you’ll see a brief spinner while that completes. Turning it off and back on afterward is instant.
  • Turning it off stops summaries for new voicemails immediately. Summaries already on your call logs stay put.
  • Every new voicemail is summarized in one sentence — the caller (by name if they say it), why they called, and any callback number, deadline, or requested action.
  • Very short voicemails (under ~10 seconds) and unusually long ones are skipped automatically.
  • If a recording is empty, silence, hold music, or a hang-up, the summary reads “No usable message.”

Voicemail Summary is metered per day, and the allowance depends on your plan — the feature’s card in Admin → Traise Intelligence shows your current allowance. It’s shared across everyone on the account, resets at midnight UTC (late afternoon or early evening in US time zones, not your local midnight), and doesn’t carry over from one day to the next.

If you hit the daily limit, new voicemails still record and transcribe as normal — they just don’t get an AI summary until the reset. Nothing errors and no warning appears, so if summaries stop showing up partway through a busy day, check the allowance first. Voicemails skipped for being too short or too long don’t count against it.

See How daily allowances work for the full rules.

Voicemail recordings are sent to our vendor’s AI service to produce the transcript and summary, which are stored on the matching call log in Traise. No contact records or other account data are sent, and your data is never used to train third-party AI models.
