Dec Pages Compare

Dec Pages Compare reads insurance declarations pages for you. Upload one or two PDFs on a client's record and Traise extracts the coverages, limits, deductibles, and premiums, compares them, and drafts a plain-English summary you can edit and send straight to the client — as a polished PDF or a text message.

From Admin → Traise Intelligence, switch Dec Pages Compare on and accept the disclaimer (see the overview for how enabling features works). Once it's on, every agent on the account can use it.

If the feature is off, the Dec Pages button on client records shows as disabled with a note to ask your admin to enable it.

  1. Open the client's record and click the Dec Pages chip in the action bar above the client's stats. A dialog opens with the compare workspace.

  2. Pick the comparison type:

    TypePDFsUse it when
Renewal2The carrier sent renewal terms — see what changed from the current policy
Requote2You have a new quote (same carrier or a competitor's) — should the client stay or switch?
New Prospect1A prospect brought their current policy — find gaps and talking points
  3. Drag and drop the PDF(s) into the upload boxes (or click to browse). A preview of each document appears so you can confirm you grabbed the right ones — for two-document types, always put the current policy on the left.

  4. Click Compare. Analysis takes a few minutes; the dialog shows each step as it runs (parsing each PDF, then comparing). You can close the dialog and come back — the comparison keeps running.

When the comparison is ready you'll see the findings as a list of line items — coverage changes, deductible changes, gaps, or reasons to stay/switch depending on the type — plus a recommendation for you as the agent.

Everything the client will see is under your control:

  • Include/exclude toggles — switch any line item out of the client-facing output.
  • Summary note — the AI drafts a short, friendly note written to the client. Edit it freely; this is the text that leads the PDF and the text message.
  • Internal note — for your own reference. Never appears in anything the client sees.
  • Prepared for — if the client record has a co-contact, choose whether the output addresses the primary or secondary contact. Traise pre-selects this by matching the named insured on the dec page; if it can't tell, it asks you to confirm.

From the review screen:

  • Download PDF — a clean, client-ready comparison document with your included line items and summary note.
  • Text to Client — sends the summary note and the PDF to the client's existing message conversation.
  • Follow Up — creates a follow-up task linked to this comparison, pre-filled with a reference note.

Comparisons are metered per day, and the allowance depends on your plan, shared across all agents on the account. The workspace shows today's usage against your current allowance, and the Compare button disables with an explanation when the day's allowance is used. The count resets at midnight UTC.

Comparisons — including the uploaded PDFs — are kept for 60 days from the last time anyone viewed them. Opening a comparison resets its clock, so anything your team still references sticks around; abandoned ones clean themselves up. Past comparisons for a client are listed in the compare dialog, and once a client has saved comparisons a Dec Page Compare card also appears on their record.

The declarations page PDFs you upload are sent to our vendor's AI service to be read and compared. The PDFs, the extracted policy details, and the generated comparison are stored securely with the client's record and deleted on the schedule above. No contact records or other account data are sent, and your data is never used to train third-party AI models.
